Sales Manager (New York City area)

Whiting Consulting is looking for a Sales Manager for our client in the New York City area. Heading up the Sales team, this individual will take full responsibility for the ‘functional sell’ of our client’s main product systems and modules to new and existing Company clients.

Responsibilities

  • Completion of high quality responses to prospective client RFI’s (request for information) and RFP’s (request for proposal).
  • Participate in the qualification process of prospects.
  • Feed market trends to local product management to support the creation of a local product strategy.
  • Ensure the development of a strong infrastructure for the sales process.
  • Mapping requests from the customer with the product and services offered by the product.
  • Overall responsibility for delivery of detailed product software and company presentations.
  • Responsible for the project management of product workshops carried out during the sales process with the capability of moderating these workshops.
  • Ensure detailed information transfer from the sales process to the implementation team after a contract has been signed.
  • Ensuring that proper information has been passed onto local product management to sign off product gaps.
  • Gain overall knowledge of all areas in the product and become an expert in certain areas of the system as well the financial functions that are supported in these areas.
  • Negotiate contract pricing and overall responsibility for legal matters.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a solution focused attitude.
  • Methodical, hardworking, enthusiastic and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel (up to 60%).
  • Business knowledge of Asset Management and the business processes around this.
  • Excellent customer relation skills, with the ability to focus on and understand customer requirements within the context of the Company’s highly scalable solution.
  • Ability to identify market trends that may have an impact on corporate sales techniques.
  • Experience of motivating and coaching pre-sales teams through successful methodologies to ensure that pre-sales professionals have all the necessary skills to meet their targets.
  • A natural leader amongst team members, clients and other employees within the Company.
  • Strong negotiating and capacity management skills.
  • Highly-organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience of managing a successful presales team.
  • Experience of functional selling or implementation of the flagship product or similar products is a strong benefit.
  • A degree in economics, finance, mathematics or equivalent.
  • Relevant client side experience.
