There is a HRevolution going on:

This past weekend I attended a great “unconference” called HRevolution in Chicago IL. The attendees were a mix of HR and Recruiting professionals passionate about taking their industries to the next level.

You could feel the energy and excitement within the room, there were folks putting faces to names and people took advantage of the networking opportunity this time together provided. We also spent time talking about the current challenges facing the HR and Recruiting worlds.

My takeaways from the conference were as follows:

I learned a new phrase called Resource Branding: Pushing the brand out to the employees and how to further engage HR out of the traditional bubble.

Companies need to train employees on how to further market their company in a social setting.
They also need to take the fear out of the air so that everyone within an organization is a brand advocate.

That Recruiting and HR are walking PR for their company. That they need to partner with Marketing to further develop a consistent message.

That HR and Recruiting do want to work and partner with each other. We have come a long way in this area and still have a way to go but we are making headway.

I am very glad that I had the opportunity to attend and help sponsor this event. I am looking forward to seeing ideas and actions discussed move forward into companies and different industries. May the HRevolution live on!

Special thanks to all that made this event possible. Your commitment to this issue and your passion for what you do was truly appreciated.
