Whiting Consulting is searching for Manager/Director of Quality Assurance for our client. As a result of their continued growth and the success of their business model, we are searching for a Manager/Director of Quality Engineering. This role will be responsible for the growth, development and expansion of all quality-engineering programs within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop the QA organization to support the growth and diversification of the business.
  • Implement a continuous plan for growing and maturing the QA organization.
  • Guide the development of all QA processes across the organization.
  • Lead the development of all aspects of quality assurance including new product testing, regression testing, automation and load testing.

  • 15+ years experience as QA professional, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and Scrum.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer oriented focus, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization from individual contributor to Senior Executive.
  • Experience working for a SaaS company.
  • Experience leading a distributed QA organization.
  • Experience testing large-scale, database driven Web sites.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of multi-tier/multi-site internet systems.
  • In depth understanding of distributed systems and how to evaluate performance and stability across these systems.
  • Deep experience with load, stress, black box and white box testing.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with all departments to achieve and meet tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding organization skills.
  • Experience managing outsourced and offshore teams.
  • Strong background in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Direct experience with QA automation tools (Selenium).

    Team Lead – Visual C++ (Lancaster, PA)

    Position Summary

    This position is for a software engineering technical lead to work as part of our company’s PC Applications Development group. The successful candidate will lead a development team in developing software development kits (SDKs) and applications targeted at the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) security industry.

    Principal Responsibilities

    · Based upon the defined software requirements and architecture, define, manage, and support software engineers’ design, implementation, and testing tasks.

    · Facilitate peer reviews of design artifacts and source code.

    · Define and drive software engineering method and tool improvements to improve time to market, minimize rework and create high quality software.

    · Develop well-documented software applications and components according to department standards.

    · Plan, design, and execute comprehensive and repeatable software unit and integration tests.

    · Ensure product quality and reliability.

    · Participate in project teams under the direction of a project manager.

    · Participate in the development and maintenance of existing products.


    Education

    Job Requirements :

     

    • Must have worked on the design and implementation of commercial distributed-system, database, or other highly scalable application, with specific experience in grid software development a strong plus.
    • Should have experience with the entire software development cycle including designing, implementing, documenting, testing, and maintaining complex multi-threaded applications.
    • Must have 5+ years of Java software development and equivalent object-oriented design experience in a cross-platform environment (Unix, Windows). Proficiency in test-driven development is required.
    • Should have working knowledge of one or more application servers, especially JBoss, WebLogic, or WebSphere. Experience with Business Intelligence tools a plus. Experience with SOA and Web services also a plus.
    • Familiarity with two or more of J2EE, .NET, XML, Spring, JMX, JNI, Axis, Ajax, JSP, and Eclipse is required.
